In 1948 the two brothers Antonio y Carlos Sanmateu began their career in a textile project with just 4,900 Ptas (around 40.00 USD) in their pocket. That project would soon become a thriving business. The trading of yarns was our starter and a couple of bicycles our means of transport. We visited customers in a radio of 25 miles away. In our bikes we carried all samples and, at the same time we delivered the orders. The demands and orders were rising and the business growing up, so, four years later we could buy a motorcycle and in 1958 we bought our first car: an amazing Renault 4/4
The seriousness and good service not only kept us in the market but it helped us to open many new doors, both financially and by providers. This resulted in the need to purchase new facilities, so we acquired a new 800 Sqm warehouse.
Not without difficulties and efforts we grew, and it was in 1992 when there was a fundamental change in the market with the emergence and development of new hypermarkets and malls, forcing us to close our small business which it had been, until then, our central axis. From that moment we had to refocus Textiles Sanmateu arriving to be as we know it today, where selling to wholesalers is our first and most important turnover and the distribution was focused, at the beginning, on Spain and Portugal.

Our new short-term challenges are mainly focused in increase our range of sports goods, as well as to offer custom-made articles to our clients.

We have high qualified professionals located in different areas: Administration, Import Department, Orders Processing, Design, Sales Network, Production and Manufacturing.
